They loved it of course, and many of them presented him with tins of corned beef as well as gum and 'Lifebuoy'candy for me (sweets were rationed alsohere for about 5 years after the war ended)My mother of course was delighted and devised all manner of recipes eg corned beef fritters and corned beef hash, but as far as I can recall (well, I was only about six!)no blue corned beef!
