Woke up yesterday to find I was still here. I then decided it was one of several things: that He came alone (sans angels, trumpets, horsemen because they'd make too much noise), He was so pissed off because we knew about it so He changed His mind (fooled ya!) or that it did happen and I am one of those left behind! However I seemed to have one friend less on Face Book so perhaps there was some elitism involved! Either that or the person couldn't bear the fact that I had mocked!
G-d put me on this earth to accomplish a certain number of things. Right now, i am so far behind, i will never die, nor can the world end until i'm through.
I kind of like messymimi,,I am so far behind on the things I should have done, while I could, and didn't, He has to keep me here to fulfill the job He has sent me to do,,,I don't think I've done it yet!! ,
Wouldn't it be funny if there really HAD BEEN a rapture and so few people got raptured that no one even noticed? Like, maybe two people in the whole world?
See, the problem is, well, us... we're so used to just giving anything ten seconds of our attention that we were REALLY focused on waiting for the Rapture; but, then, there was this mosquito... and, well, my cell phone rang and I answered it... and, then, I saw a spider on the wall that I had to kill... and, then, I went back to where I was standing IN FOCUS... and, well, I forgot what I was supposed to be focused on and then my dog needed to go outside... well, you can see what I was doing... and, all you had to do was empty the kitty boxes? Geez...
Maverick of a weird, but wonderful family. Have managed to stay alive for an astounding 86+ years kept alive by a passionate interest in many things and a sense of humor.
Have led 2 or 3 separate lives, the first 40 years as a starving artist, ceramist, and graphic designer. At age 40 a matchbook cover that said "Be A Computer Programmer" inspired me to go back to school and emerge as a binary fanatic. Loved my work, had a wonderful 20 year career as programmer and trouble shooter. At the same time I had the chance to meet, befriend and marry Jazz Cornetist Pete Daily,an idol of my youth, whom I had worshipped in my young life. Lost him to cancer after 11 wonderful (and sometimes awful) years. Retired in 1989 and had 20 years of fantastic travel adventures all over the world. Now I crochet afghans, tend my garden, my 3 cats, the neighborhood birds and squirrels, a flock of voracious hummingbirds and assorted wildlife like possums and raccoon families who come nightly to my Porch Buffet. A great life, and it ain't over yet !....(after all, I have just discovered Blogging....)
Hi. Thanks for your comments!
ReplyDeleteYou DIDN'T clean the kitty boxes? No wonder you were "left behind" with the rest of us reprobates! :-)
ReplyDeleteI went out and bought some ice cream - just in case. I didn't want Jesus to show up and me have no food to offer him.
I'm still around too ~ just another sinner!
ReplyDeleteIf it occurred, and the 144,000 (or whatever it was) people left us... I got left behind too. That part, at least, is not surprising.
ReplyDelete:)
Well maybe it did and you and I are left...may as well have another cup of coffee!!

ReplyDeleteCaught up with the ironing. (Had been deferring it just in case it wasn't worth bothering.) That's my story.
ReplyDeleteOf course it didn't happen.

ReplyDeleteLife goes on, thank goodness! Hope all is well with you. x
ReplyDeleteHa! Shows what you know. I whisked away and am writing this from heaven above. Luckily, the wi-fi is excellent.
ReplyDeleteDearest Lo, I forgot until I saw my friend's comment on Facebook "So much for the afterlife! It's just like the old one."
ReplyDeleteHope you are very well and still swimming in your wonderful pool xx
