Aw Shucks......All My Own Work

I have finally summoned up enough courage and energy to take some photos of my afghans and post them for your delight/approval/criticism.  I have been trying for years to shoot proper photos of these things.....for some reason, when you lay them flat they look accurate but bleh.  When you drape them tastefully on a chair they are more interesting, but you cannot really see the whole pattern.  Oh, hell and oh well.......here goes.

Actually, if you will forgive my lack of humility.....as I took them out of the bags into which they were stuffed I could not help but exclaim to Florence,"Ohmigawd, they are beautiful'......some I did not remember til I saw them.  Definitely feel they were worth the time and effort.....now the question is, Do I buy a bigger house or just turn the whole thing into closets and move into a hotel?.  Don't forget to click on the ones you really like to see them enlarged.

OK folks........that's a fair sample of what I do when I am ensconced in Crochet Corner.
Now I am thinking of creating a site on  Ebay to see if I can unload any of them before I have to move.

I will definitely need your help doing THAT.

  1. Lo - They are BEAUTIFUL!!!

And don't eBay them, put them up on Etsy (they are more geared toward artsy/crafty/hand-made stuff).

They truly are gorgeous! You do excellent work!

I would go for Etsy also.

  4. These are absolutely wonderful. I think I am a crafsty person and then I tried to teach myself to crotchet. Perhaps I shall try again this winter, with more determination and patience!

I can't decide which is my favourite, I like them all for different reasons. If I had any money I would buy them all, they are stunning. I could drape them everywhere just to make me smile. Your blog provides me with more smiles than any other. Thank you again. I will have to look again tomorrow to see if I can make a damn decision as to which is my favourite.

  6. All beautiful, and i love the gray, pink, and white one best.

Sell on Etsy, or donate to a charity auction for a worthy cause if you really don't want to be bothered with selling.

  7. You have to move? My sympathies. I have to move, too. What a pain in the arse. ;) Those are really beautiful. I love the all white one. Yes, open an Etsy store.

Wishing you well in these endeavors.

  8. I like them all too Lo, but especially the first and eighth ones for the colours. If you don't need to sell them I'm thinking of what joy they would bring to people in hospice, or a hospital, or ....

  13. Absolutely gorgeous, Lo. And, I agree, not on eBay. Create an Etsy shop. I want them all. Just keep making more. Simply beautiful. You can be very proud.

  16. Lovely workmanship. The last photo looks like a quilt. My favorite is the creamy popcorn type but all of them are wonderful. I visit antique shops once in a while -- browsing only -- as I too have lots of acquisitions I would like to dispose of. It seems that afghans have reached a valuable status. If you are willing to sell them put them all on I say. -- barbara

  19. Crikey, you are prolific. Just don't take up spinning with a drop spindle or you will never leave the house. Go for the knee operation!

  20. OMG!! LO---I have seen you on Mz Moon's blog but this is my first time here. These are gorgeous!!

You are inspiring me to get back to LEARNING to crochet (so far, I just get impatient and throw it all out the window).

As soon as the summer is over.

    I will definitely be back...
