Aignan" reported the following............a perfect description of our peculiar current dependence/addiction......
- I'm glad your family is no longer in harm's way, and don't want to downplay the dangers of extreme weather, but I laughed a lot yesterday reading this on facebook, "As Hurricane Irene batters the East Coast, federal disaster officials have warned that Internet outages could force people to interact with other people and neighbors for the first time in years. Residents are bracing themselves for the horror of awkward silences & unwanted eye contact. FEMA has advised: “Be prepared. Write down possible topics to talk about in advance. Sports, the weather. Remember, a conversation is basically a series of Facebook updates strung together.”
That IS a gem!
ReplyDelete:-D It certainly is!
ReplyDeleteRead it to my 13-year-old, and she agrees wholeheartedly. :)
ReplyDeleteVery good :-) Some of my family are in North Carolina at the moment and they said the worst thing that happened was their garden got messed up. When pushed they admitted it hadn't been that tidy to begin with.
ReplyDeleteHahahahaha!
ReplyDeleteI just talk to myself and I answer back.
ReplyDelete:-) Human interaction! The horror! :-)

ROTFLMAO....
ReplyDeleteVery funny. (Unfortunately.)
ReplyDeleteVery funny indeed.
ReplyDeleteWe were a little too far inland to get any of this storm. It would have been an interesting experience to be without power for a little while. I remember sitting around the fireplace in a winter power outage with all of us in our warmest clothes and cooking something on the bbq and trying to get it back inside before it got too cold. Sometimes it does us good to have to improvise....just as long as it doesn't last too long!
